Yes, but only mildly. Snake plant is toxic to dogs and cats, but most pets that chew it just get an upset stomach and recover on their own. Keep it out of reach, and call your vet if symptoms last more than a day.
Snake plant, also called mother-in-law's tongue (Sansevieria, now classified as Dracaena trifasciata), contains saponins, natural compounds that irritate the stomach and gut. Its stiff, bitter leaves also mean pets rarely eat much of it.
Drooling, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, usually within a few hours. Symptoms are generally mild and short-lived.
Remove any plant material from your pet's mouth and make sure it has fresh water. Keep an eye on it for the rest of the day. Call your vet if vomiting or diarrhoea lasts more than 24 hours, or if your pet stops eating or drinking or seems lethargic. Move the plant somewhere your pet can't reach.
